My food is yours

This is Just to Say

I have eaten
your tacos
that were sittin
on your table

you were probably
hungry
since you didn’t
have lunch

Forgive me
They were filling
So hot
And so crunchy.

My parody is about when I ate my roommates’ lunch one time since he had left it on my desk and went out to grab a drink. His tacos were all gone by the time he got back. I had just returned from class and I had missed lunch too, so I finished his lunch. The form of the poem is the same as Williams with 3- four line stanzas and also syllables. The punctuations for the poem only come at the end. The poem has mocking tone because I wasn’t really sorry when I ate his lunch because he has finished some of my food one night. But that is how roommates are with each other, so their needs to be communicate with us. The original poem has a similar tone compared to my poem. Getting the form down was easy, but getting everything you want in those 12 lines isn’t, but it is worth putting in the effort to have a great poem.

Your parody made me smile. Mostly because my roommate and I are the same way. I came home last night to find that all of my cookie dough was gone. I was a little upset until I discovered she went out to buy more. It all evens out in the end. :)

I enjoyed your poem. It was funny, especially how it it actually happend and you were not even sorry. However, I thought you brought up a point when you mentioned that there should be better communication between you and your roomate. Maybe that's something else Williams is saying with his poem, besides just simply telling his wife why her plums are gone.

Your parody is something we can all relate to, and I enjoyed reading it! In my case replace taco with pizza (mmm!) Its nice that you say roommates should have better communication. To some eating each others food is ok and too small of an issue to care, for others it is a big issue and needs to be addressed immediately. I'm glad you gave you opinion in the description. And i ask you this, even if he ate your food from before, did it bother you? And if it did do you remeber how upset that may have made you? Two wrongs dont make a right.
